Variety: 95% ‘tinta del país’ Tempranillo and 5% Albillo
Region: Roa, Ribera del Duero, Spain
Vineyards: Organic vineyards planted by Thomas Esteban, averaging 25 years.
Soil: Soil comprised of boulder, round river stones, and sand with a subsoil of clay, sand, and limestone. 50% old bush vines, 50% trellised vines.
Winemaking: After they have been harvested, the grapes are quickly taken to the winery in order to preserve the quality. Malolactic fermentation: 50% stainless steel, 50% oak barrels. Maturation: 24 months in 80% French oak, 20% American oak, 50 % new and 50% one year old barrels.
