Made only in exceptional vintages, made from 36 and 44-year-old Gamay vines, handpicked and foot trod. It’s complex and savoury, with seductive characters of cherries and plums and hints of violets, spice, chocolate, nougat and liquorice, with silky texture and excellent length.

Vineyard: Choussy
Soil: Sandy topsoil sitting on top of a thick layer of excellent smectite clay.
Winemaking: Handpicked, foot trod in fermentation barrels. Barrel fermented and 9 months on lees in one and two-year-old French oak.
Technical: Alc./Vol. 13% | Residual sugar 0.4 g/L | Free/Total Sulphur levels 16/95 mg/L | Bottled November 2012 | Production 1,800 bottles
